KBAR-B-Q
This post will be a short one… For the simple reason that I am currently enamored with the fact that Star Trek : The Next Generation is on Netflix and because of that I have not been able to focus on a damn thing. In two weeks I have watched 38 of the 177 episodes. Obsession seems to be my forte.
I haven’t really watched it since I was a wee lass so it’s kind of a big deal for me, but I will touch on that in a different post. At any rate, even though I was probably only 5 when I watched this show religiously, it still holds a special place in my heart. I suppose once a Trekkie? Always a Trekkie.
Enough of my rambles! Onward!
This weekend is the annual KBAR-B-Q. This year will be my first year to attend so I’m not quite sure what to expect, however, I do know there will be a ton of excellent bands performing including Poor Favor, The Revival, Patiently Waiting, Return to Cinder, and tons more. It is put on by the charming people at K-BAR, a Victoria radio station and from the stories I’ve heard from years past it is worth the experience.
If there is anything that growing up in a small town has taught me, it is that Bar-B-Q, booze, and music is ALWAYS a good thing. In fact, an event isn’t an event unless all three of the aforementioned variables are present.
We will be attending this event in true OMBG fashion. The Old Man himself volunteered to be a B-B-Q judge. (If your going to be in the cook-off, just a heads up!) As for myself? This year they are allowing vendors to set up booths throughout the event and that is where I will be located. Look for our BLUE tent. I’ll be there all day handing out swag and the likes. At least until the booze runs out.
Hope to see you there!
