Halo 4 Launch Trailer, “Scanned” and Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn Part 3

Sup guys? Something special for you today. I give you, “Scanned.” Which is the official launch trailer for Halo 4. And. Its. AWESOME!!!! Check this shit out!!

…..I’m back!! Sorry, after watching that trailer I had to go change my pants. Oh my God! Halo has been known to have pretty epic launch trailers, but this one takes the cake. Live action. We see Master Chief as a child being taken from his family to be put into the Spartan Program. The Promethians. Just awesome!

Also, we have Part 3 of Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn. And here it is!

http://youtu.be/WbBYG77VeCE

I can’t wait to see live action Master Chief in action in the next episode! And how badass was that Elite!!

That’s all I got for now! Later!

Video Game News!!

Sup guys? Here’s what’s going on this week!

Lets start off with some Halo news shall we?

Well, part 2 of Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn was released this past Friday! In my opinion, they should just let 343 Industries make a Halo movie already, because this miniseries has just been amazing so far. For those who don’t know, Forward Unto Dawn is a miniseries that serves as a primer for Halo 4. It follows Thomas Lasky, a young cadet in the UNSC CAMS cadet school. During that time, the Covenant invades the school, and the Master Chief shows up to help Lasky and his fellow cadets come together as a group and fend off the Covenant forces. Fast forward to Halo 4, and it’s now Captain Lasky who finds Master Chief on the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn. Anyway, here’s episode two of the miniseries!

Did anyone else see the bald guy during the fight in the mess hall? If you did, then you caught a special cameo appearance by Halo franchise director, Frank O ‘Connor! So good eyes!

Along with Forward Unto Dawn, IGN has also been releasing video walkthroughs of the various multiplayer maps in Halo 4. Here’s one for the map called, “Meltdown.”

In other news, it looks as though Domino will be making an appearance in the upcoming Marvel/High Moon game featuring everyone’s favorite Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool! For those who don’t remember, back at this years San Diego Comic Con, Marvel and High Moon announced a Deadpool game! Here’s the announcement trailer!

As some of you may know, New York Comic Con was this past weekend…and Deadpool decided to show up and have a little fun. Luckily, he had a video camera and recorded the whole thing!

Well that was fun!

On to Assassin’s Creed 3 stuff! We are less than 2 weeks away from the release of Assassin’s Creed 3, and I’m so excited!! IGN has made a behind the scenes video that showcase the wilderness and terrain that Connor will be traversing in the game.

Very cool, you can see the inspiration from Red Dead Redemption in this making of video.

Finally, we have a good look at the multiplayer aspect of AC3. Check it out!

Well, that’s all I’ve got for now! Till next time! Later!

Video Game News!!

George Washington being an evil king….Like A Boss!

Sup guys? Here’s what’s been going on in the video game world over the past week.

First of all, as you can see in the nifty artwork at the top of my article, the first peace of DLC to come with the season pass for Assassin’s Creed 3 will be a single player mission entitled, “The Tyranny of King Washington.” This will take place in an alternate reality in which George Washington, the hero of the American Revolution, actually decided to become king of the newly independent union.  And he becomes a tyrannical king at that.  Now, it’s up to our new assassin, Connor, who helped during the revolution, to bring down the evil King of the United States.  I, for one, am very intrigued by the concept of this mission. As you may or may not know from US History, George Washington was offered the title of “King” after the Revolution but he declined saying that the new union would not be ruled by a king.  I love how Ubisoft puts twists on actual historical events.

Anyway, in other Assassin’s Creed news, there’s been a new trailer released that shows some of Connor’s back story. Him as a child having his village destroyed, to him being trained to become an assassin.  And here it is.

Very cool stuff.

Alright, on to Halo 4.  Well, to be more specific, Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn.  Yes, the miniseries made it’s premier last Friday. And here is episode 1!

I’m digging this series so far.  And I really enjoyed the Master Chief teaser at the beginning of the episode and I really can’t wait to see a live action Master Chief!

In other Halo 4 news, I mentioned the other week that the Flood will be making it’s return in Halo 4.  When that was originally announced, all we had was a screenshot.  Now we have a gameplay demo thanks to the guys at IGN!  Enjoy.

Ok, now some stuff that has nothing to do with Assassin’s Creed or Halo 4.  Well, it seems that the hit game Angry Birds is going to a galaxy far, far away.  Yes, on November, 8th, there will be an Angry Birds Star Wars game.  And here’s the teaser trailer for it.

Yep. That’s happening.

Finally, so last week was the release of Resident Evil 6.  I was looking forward to this game.  It looks great both visually and gameplay wise, and the story looks pretty cool too.  It seems that both the stories of Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield will intertwine as they take one both the classic T-Virus zombies we know from the first few RE games, and the crazy parasitic foes we know from recent titles.  I haven’t had the chance to pick up a copy, but here’s the launch trailer for the game!

Man.  I forgot how good that trailer is.  I really wanna pick up a copy now.

Anyway, that’s it for now!  Check back next time for more stuff!

Movie Review: The Best Red vs Blue DVD Ever. Of All Time

The guys over at Rooster Teeth Productions have been making Red vs Blue for ten years now. It is one of the longest running internet series today, has garnered millions of fans worldwide and has received many awards including “Best Internet Series” from the IAWTV Awards in 2011. In those ten years, Roosterteeth.com has gone from being a forum site to go to watch and discuss the latest episode to being it’s own community site will over one million site members. Well, a few months ago, a survey was released by the creators for their community members to fill out. The survey consisted of questions regarding the communities favorite moments from seasons one through nine of the series. And now those votes have been tabulated and the winners have been brought together to give to you: The Best Red vs Blue DVD Ever. Of All Time.

I really enjoyed this best of collection and the way it was presented. When you see other “best of” clip shows, its usually hosted by one of the stars of the show and they would usually say things like, “Well, if you think that little mishap was funny, than take a look at all the other times this has happened to one of us!” Well, the Rooster Teeth guys did things a little different. Since this collection was put together by the votes of the community, this “best of” collection is brought to us in the way of an awards show.

Yeah, an awards show, complete with a red carpet pre-show hosted by nobodies favorite American Grifball League of America commissioner….The Commissioner.

The first ever Red vs Blue Awards show was hosted by the unofficial leader of the Blue Army, Private Leonard Church, and offered lots of bickering, heckling, and all out shouting matches from the audience. Along with seeing Church at the podium, we also got to see show favorites Tucker, Sarge, Simmons, Grif, Donut, Wash, Tex, Andy the Bomb, Sister, Junior, and of course, Caboose, come up and announce winners and categories. Some of the categories included are: Best Moments from seasons one through nine, favorite character lines, best episodes from seasons one through nine, favorite Grifball miniseries, favorite miniseries, and many others.

I’ve gotta say, it was really nice reliving all of these classic moments from Red vs Blue. I’ve been a fan of the series for a very long time and it’s really cool seeing the creators show their appreciation to their fans by letting them choose their favorite moments from the series.

Also, the awards show aspect was a nice touch, because we all know Donut’s been practicing his Oscar speech for years now, and the guys did it to a tee. As various characters would take the stage to announce categories, there would be the occasional bad joke, not to mention the Red vs Blue brand of humor that was heckling from the Reds when a Blue was on stage, or Sister accusing Wash of being a cop when he was on stage.

My only problem with the show, is that I think Donut should have been the host instead of Church. I can see why Church was hosting seeing as that he gets angry and blows up on people easily, which is not what you want a host to do. But Donut would have been better in my opinion because he would have taken what a normal awards show host does to an all new level. Probably would’ve included a song and dance number which would have been hilarious to see.

Other than that, The Best Red vs Blue DVD Ever. Of All Time was an absolute pleasure to watch, and we here at OMBG give it two thumbs up!

Video Game News!! YAAAAYYY!!

Sup guys? Here’s what we got this week in video game land!

First, another trailer for Assassin’s Creed 3. This time, we get a little history lesson about the famous Boston Tea Party. And apparently, our protagonist, Connor, plays part in the first form of defiance from the Colonist to King George in dumping the outrageously taxed tea into the Boston Harbor. Check out the trailer below.

In other Assassin’s Creed news, Ubisoft has announced that they will be releasing an Assassin’s Creed: Ezio Trilogy. Which is exactly what it sounds like. There will be a collection of AC games that will be the Ezio Trilogy, so it will include: Assassin’s Creed 2, Brotherhood, and Revelations. The only thing is, it’s only going to be released for the Playstation 3. I’m a little irritated by that. I already own the Ezio Trilogy myself, but for those who don’t and are 360 gamers like myself, that’s a bit of a jip. But what can you do? The Ezio Trilogy will be released for the PS3 on November 13th.

BioWare has also jumped on board with releasing collections of their successful franchises. They have just announced that they will be releasing a Mass Effect Collection. Which will include Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3. This will mark the first time that the first Mass Effect being available to play on the PC and PS3. But while the PC and 360 versions of the trilogy will be released on November 6th, the PS3 versions has yet to be given a release date.

Finally, in Halo 4 news, the Flood will be making a return in Halo 4. As of right now, not in the campaign, but in a multiplayer type. There will be a new multiplayer game in Halo 4 simply called, The Flood. So we will see what happens there. That’s pretty exciting if you ask me.

Well, thats all for now. See ya next time!

Your Weekly Video Game News Roundup!

Sup guys? Got a little bit of news for you this week. So lets get to it!

Well, first of all, last week I forgot to post a very cool Making of Halo 4 video that was released on the Halo Waypoint app on the XBox Live Marketplace. So here it is!

Oh man! Did anyone else get goosebumps watching that? It’s so cool seeing the people behind the voices like Jenn Taylor and Steve Downes. And seeing the motion capture actors for the cinematics. I so cannot wait for Halo 4!

Well, in other news. Another game I’m very much looking forward is Assassin’s Creed 3! Well, with a preorder from Gamestop, you will get for free a new single player mission called, “The Lost Mayan Ruins” in which Conner explores Mexico in search of Captain Kidd’s prized weapon, The Saw Toothed Sword. And heres a little teaser trailer for it.

Finally, Borderlands 2 comes out today! If you were a fan of the first one, go out and get the sequel.

Well, that does it for this week. See ya next time!

Weekly Video Game News Roundup!

What’s up guys? Got some really cool news this week in regards to video games, so lets get to it!!

First of all, PAX Prime happened this past weekend. And with PAX Prime, comes so cool news.

First off, Hideo Kojima had been teasing a big reveal regarding the 25th anniversary of the Metal Gear Solid franchise. A few days before PAX, Kojima announced that a new Metal Gear game, title, “Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes,” was on it’s way, and was going to be an open world game. Much different from the normal format of a Metal Gear game. Metal Gear Solid has always been a linear story franchise. You knew your objective, you went where you needed to go to proceed through the story. Well, at PAX, Kojima let audiences in on the 14 minute trailer to officially reveal Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes. And here it is!

http://youtu.be/24JNJgib8m0

As you could see, you will be playing as Naked Snake(AKA Big Boss), aka, the Snake you played as in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. As those who are familiar with the Metal Gear universe, the Solid Snake that we all know, is in fact a clone of Big Boss(Naked Snake). So there you go. But there are certainly some questions. like for instance, whats with the kid in the cage? Or, who’s the scarred up dude? But I’m sure questions will be answered as the game gets closer to release.

Next, as you may recall, we got an interview with Jay from Twisted Pixel, and he talked a little about their upcoming game, LocoCycle. Don’t believe me? Well, here’s the interview right here.

See? Told ya! Anyway, here’s the first gameplay trailer for LocoCycle!

Pretty cool huh? I’m definitley keeping my eye out for that one!

And last but certainly not least, Halo 4 news.

What else can be said? Halo 4 is going to be the SHIT! And as the release date gets closer, more and more exciting announcements keep coming out. And PAX was no exception. First of all, we find out that Grifball will be apart of Halo 4 multiplayer. And it’s getting it’s own playlist. And they’re putting new features into the game type. I’ll let the trailer and demo explain everything for you.

YOU CAN THROW THE BALL AROUND!!!! HOW COOL IS THAT!?!?!?

Now, some of you may be asking yourselves, what is Grifball? Well, Grifball started out as a custom game in Halo 3 made by the guys from Rooster Teeth, who make Red vs Blue. But why Grifball? Well, let me show you where the name came from.

Yep, a Red vs Blue joke became a Halo 3 game type that took the gaming universe by storm. Now, some of you may be asking yourselves, “How does Grifball work?” Well, luckily for all of us, our friends from Red vs Blue made a video to teach us the rules of Grifball.

See? there you go.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this week in video game news! Tune in next week and hopefully I can find some other stuff to talk about!

Laters!

WWE 13 Roster Revealed

CM Punk on the cover of WWE 13

Sup guys? This past Sunday was the WWE’s “Party of the Summer” Pay Per View event, Summerslam. Now, the WWE has a pay per view event every month, but there have always been 3 pay per views that are benchmarks for the professional wrestling company. Those three are The Royal Rumble, Summerslam, and of course, Wrestlemania. Now, for these events, the WWE basically take over the venue where the event is being held and have a weekend long convention they call WWE Fan Axxes. During this event, there are meet a greets with superstars, chances to commentate on matches with current and legendary WWE commentators, and also some press events. Well, this past weekend there was a press event held to reveal the roster for this years video game, WWE 13. And here it is!

Man, I’m really digging this roster. I was lucky enough to grow up watching wrestling during the 90s. And for anyone that watched during that time knows about the Monday Night Wars with WCW and more importantly, that was the beginning of the Attitude Era. I’ve gotta say, it’s gonna be really cool getting to play as the superstars of the Attitude Era and to see current superstars as they looked during that time. I. E. Triple H as he currently is, Triple H during the original DX days, and Triple H when he went by Hunter Hearst Helmsley. And also knowing that the “Three Faces of Foley” will all be playable. For those who were, and still are a fan of Mick Foley will appreciate that. Think about it, you could have a 6 man tag match between Hunter Hearst Helmsley, DX Triple H, and current Triple H against Mankind, Dude Love, and Cactus Jack. How cool would that be? And by the looks of it, you will be able to recreate famous moments from matches that took place during the Attitude Era. As you could see from the trailer, you will be reliving the moment when The Undertaker threw Mankind off of the top of the Hell in a Cell into the announcer’s table below. If you were a fan of wrestling, you will never get that moment out of you head for as long as you live.

I personally can’t wait for WWE 13. WWE 12 was a great title and THQ implemented a lot of new gameplay mechanics to make the game feel as close to real life as possible and it looks like they are improving on those mechanics.

WWE 13 comes out October 30, 2012 for Wii, PS3, and XBox 360.
