Video Game News and an Added Bonus!!
Well guys, we are a week away from Assassin’s Creed 3, and I’m very excited! All of the trailers and behind the scenes videos have been leading up to this, and I’ve got a couple more videos to tide us over until next Tuesday.
First of all, I’ve got a fan film made by a group called Corridor Digital, inspired by the Assassin’s Creed 3 trailer. It’s very well made. Check it out!
The ending was kinda cheesy, I know, but the actor they got to play Connor really got his moves down well.
Next, I’ve got the launch trailer for AC3. Check it!
Next, I’ve got the opening cinematic for the game, which gives us a refresher course of Desmond’s journey for those who haven’t played any of the previous titles. Check it out!
Finally I have a television commercial for the game that features Connor writing the Declaration of Independence while taking down some Red Coats and Templars. Pretty cool stuff. Here it is!
That’s it for Assassin’s Creed. Now we move on to Halo 4! As you know, we are a mere two weeks away from the release of Halo 4! For those who haven’t seen the launch trailer, entitled “Scanned,” or the latest episode of Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, check out the blog I posted last Friday!

Now, a new trailer has been released for Bioshock: Infinite! Not only does it give a little bit of insight into the story, but we also have a release date! Check it out here!
Very cool. Bioshock has always been a franchise that has intrigued me. And Infinite is looking to be no exception to that. City in the sky? I mean come on!
Lastly, as I said in the title, there’s gonna be an added bonus to this weeks video game news. And it has nothing to do with video games.
Well, the first official trailer for Iron Man 3 has been released!! AND IT’S AWESOME!!!! Check! This! Out!
Awesome! I really can’t wait to see how they are going to bring the Extremis story to life and still make it grounded in reality. Does it seem a little Dark Knight Rises-ish? Yes. But overall, Iron Man 3 looks pretty intense.
Anyway, that’s it for now. Later!
Movie Review: The Best Red vs Blue DVD Ever. Of All Time
The guys over at Rooster Teeth Productions have been making Red vs Blue for ten years now. It is one of the longest running internet series today, has garnered millions of fans worldwide and has received many awards including “Best Internet Series” from the IAWTV Awards in 2011. In those ten years, Roosterteeth.com has gone from being a forum site to go to watch and discuss the latest episode to being it’s own community site will over one million site members. Well, a few months ago, a survey was released by the creators for their community members to fill out. The survey consisted of questions regarding the communities favorite moments from seasons one through nine of the series. And now those votes have been tabulated and the winners have been brought together to give to you: The Best Red vs Blue DVD Ever. Of All Time.
I really enjoyed this best of collection and the way it was presented. When you see other “best of” clip shows, its usually hosted by one of the stars of the show and they would usually say things like, “Well, if you think that little mishap was funny, than take a look at all the other times this has happened to one of us!” Well, the Rooster Teeth guys did things a little different. Since this collection was put together by the votes of the community, this “best of” collection is brought to us in the way of an awards show.
Yeah, an awards show, complete with a red carpet pre-show hosted by nobodies favorite American Grifball League of America commissioner….The Commissioner.
The first ever Red vs Blue Awards show was hosted by the unofficial leader of the Blue Army, Private Leonard Church, and offered lots of bickering, heckling, and all out shouting matches from the audience. Along with seeing Church at the podium, we also got to see show favorites Tucker, Sarge, Simmons, Grif, Donut, Wash, Tex, Andy the Bomb, Sister, Junior, and of course, Caboose, come up and announce winners and categories. Some of the categories included are: Best Moments from seasons one through nine, favorite character lines, best episodes from seasons one through nine, favorite Grifball miniseries, favorite miniseries, and many others.
I’ve gotta say, it was really nice reliving all of these classic moments from Red vs Blue. I’ve been a fan of the series for a very long time and it’s really cool seeing the creators show their appreciation to their fans by letting them choose their favorite moments from the series.
Also, the awards show aspect was a nice touch, because we all know Donut’s been practicing his Oscar speech for years now, and the guys did it to a tee. As various characters would take the stage to announce categories, there would be the occasional bad joke, not to mention the Red vs Blue brand of humor that was heckling from the Reds when a Blue was on stage, or Sister accusing Wash of being a cop when he was on stage.
My only problem with the show, is that I think Donut should have been the host instead of Church. I can see why Church was hosting seeing as that he gets angry and blows up on people easily, which is not what you want a host to do. But Donut would have been better in my opinion because he would have taken what a normal awards show host does to an all new level. Probably would’ve included a song and dance number which would have been hilarious to see.
Other than that, The Best Red vs Blue DVD Ever. Of All Time was an absolute pleasure to watch, and we here at OMBG give it two thumbs up!
Michael Fassbender to Produce and Star in Assassin’s Creed Movie
Hey guys,
It’s been reported that Prometheus and X-Men: First Class star Michael Fassbender has signed on to co-produce and star in an upcoming Assassin’s Creed movie.
For those who may not know, last year Ubisoft started up Ubisoft Motion Pictures as a way to get their game franchises on both the big and small screens. Now we know that there will be a movie on the way and that we have a great actor in Fassbender to portray the protagonist.
Now here’s the question. Who will Fassbender play? Altair? Ezio? Or will they create a different story line for the movie and have Fassbender play someone else? Will he play Desmond as well as the Assassin? We won’t really know until details of the movie begin to surface.
I think Michael Fassbender is a great actor for the job. He was incredible as Magneto in X-Men: First Class, and is a red hot actor right now. My only concern is that he is a little old to play someone like Desmond. Which would make me believe that they could use a different story for the movie. But we will see.
What do you think about Michael Fassbender signing on to produce and star in an Assassin’s Creed movie? Let me know!!

Sup guys? Got some pretty important RTX news for ya.
If you are planning to go to RTX this year, buy a ticket fast!! They will be shipping out badges on May 29th, which is this coming Tuesday!! Sorry I’m late on giving you guys the news but ya know, day jobs and whatnot. Anyway, yeah, get your tickets fast if you are planning on going. From the way the RT guys are talking, it doesn’t seem like they will be selling badges on site, and seeing as last years badges were all sold presale, it doesn’t seem likely. So don’t take any chances!!
Anyway, so as the title on this article says, there is a new Trailer for Red vs Blue Season 10!! Check it out!!
Man, RvB Season 10 is looking intense!! Burnie Burns, who is the writer/director of Red vs Blue and the president of Rooster Teeth, and the voice behind the characters Church, and Lopez in RvB, mentioned that with Season 10 they really wanted to go all out with the action scenes, and from what the trailer suggest, they’re going to do just that.
Season 10 of Red vs Blue premiers Monday, May 28th at 9:00 pm to the public at roosterteeth.com and RTX 2012 will be at the Austin Convention center in Austin, TX July 7-8th. So get your tickets and get ready for the new season!!
Red vs Blue Season 10 Release Date and Teaser Trailer!!
Hey guys! Some Red vs Blue news for ya!
Well, Season 10 of Red vs Blue has a release date! The first episode will be released to the public on Memorial Day of this year!
Now the way that Roosterteeth does things with Red vs Blue is that the episodes will be released to sponsors of their website at 6:00 pm, 8:00 pm for community site members, and 9:00 pm for the general public.
I myself am a site sponsor, so I will be getting to see the episodes earlier then others. Haha! Suckers!
Anyway, along with a release date, wired.com has posted a teaser trailer for Season 10 that features classic lines from the beginning of Season 1 all the way up to a small line from Season 10. The character delivering that line at the very end of the trailer was made by the character “Sigma,” who is being played by Elijah Wood. For those who are familiar with the Red vs Blue story and have followed since the beginning, will know how big of a part Sigma will play in Season 10 just by the line of dialogue that the character delivers.
Here’s the link to teaser trailer of Red vs Blue Season 10!!
Elijah Wood to Join the Cast of Red vs Blue Season 10
Yes, you read correctly. According to the Twitter feeds of both the Roosterteeth Podcast and Burnie Burns, who is the writer, and director of Red vs Blue and the owner and founder of Roosterteeth Productions, Elijah Wood(yes, Frodo Baggins of the Shire) will be providing his voice talents for Season 10 of the popular Halo based web series Red vs Blue. According to Burnie, Elijah will be voicing the character of the AI Sigma. Now, if you aren’t familiar with the Red vs Blue series, you may not know who or what I’m talking about when I talk about AI’s and what they have to do with the Greek alphabet. It’s about nine seasons of backstory I would have to go through so all I can say is, catch up because season ten’s gonna be amazing.
To say that Roosterteeth getting a big time Hollywood actor like Elijah Wood to come on and do voice work is pretty fucking cool.
I’ve been following Roosterteeth and Red vs Blue for many many years now and to see how they started the series, which was in a spare bedroom in Buda, TX and a closet in Los Angeles, CA, and now they are regulars at San Diego Comic Con and PAX, making commercial spots for Gamestop, and working closely with gaming companies like BioWare, Certain Affinity, and 343 Industries. And now they have gotten the talents of a well known actor to voice who I’m thinking will be a very pivotal character in this new season.
I was looking forward to Season 10 before, but now I’m really starting to get excited about it.
Now It’s Personal Michael Bay!!
Hey guys. For those who may not known, I love the Ninja Turtles. I grew up watching the cartoon, I have all three original movies on VHS and have two copies of the first three movies on DVD and the CG movie on DVD as well, a case full of old action figures, bed sheets, a TMNT backpack full of TMNT water bottles, and posters of TMNT…I’m a fan. So when word began to spread about the new movie and how it was a live action movie that was to be dark and gritty, I was excited….until today when I read an article about the movie.
Michael Bay, who has already ruined the Transformers for many die hard fans of that franchise, is a producer for the new Ninja Turtles movie. And he has teased some information about the upcoming movie, more specifically, the origin of the Turtles.
Yes, he’s changing the origin of the Turtles….he’s making them aliens.
Yeah….ALIENS!! HE’S MAKING THEM ALIENS!!!
What is with this guy and aliens?!?!? WHY DOES HE HAVE TO RUIN THE CHILDHOODS OF SO MANY PEOPLE!?!?!
As you can tell, I’m not happy about this. There’s a reason why the book is called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s because they’re MUTANTS…NOT ALIENS!!
This had better be just some sort of stupid idea he has for the movie. And I really hope Kevin Eastman puts a stop to this as well.
You don’t mess with the origin story. You can change whatever else you want about the Turtles, but don’t change the origin. If that actually becomes the origin for the new movie, there’s a very VERY good chance that I will not be seeing this movie.
Later guys.
New Amazing Spider-Man Trailer
Check this out!! It’s the newest trailer for the upcoming reboot, The Amazing Spider-Man.
I don’t want to sound cheesy, but I think the trailer looked, “Amazing?” Haha!
As you can tell, this movie will be a lot more serious than Sam Raimis trilogy. It seems like Marc Webb is wanting to give the Spidey franchise a Nolan-esque Batman feel and make it as grounded in reality as it possibly can be. It’s looking like it’ll have a darker tone to it than any other Marvel movie with the exception of the Marvel Knights film adaptations(Punisher, Blade, Ghost Rider). It also looks like that the story itself is going to be derived from the Ultimate Spider-Man books than the actual Amazing Spider-Man that the name of the movie would suggest. The movie doesn’t come out for a few more months so there will be time for more post production and CG work, but I’m stoked about it!!
I love Spider-Man, plain and simple. He is my favorite super hero of all time and by the looks of it, this new Spidey movie is looking to be pretty damned good.
What do you guys think? Good? No good? Let me know!!
Avengers Super Bowl Commercial Teaser
Here’s a teaser trailer for a Super Bowl trailer for the Avengers. I know, a trailer for a trailer? But it’s The Avengers.
WE FINALLY GOT TO SEE THE HULK!!!!
Needless to say, I will be watching the Super Bowl on Sunday(Go Giants BTW), and will be anticipating this particular commercial.
Some Ghost Rider 2 News
Supp?
I was just reading some news about the upcoming sequel/reboot Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, and I noticed something rather interesting that could suggest that another character will take up the Ghost Rider mantle after this movie.
For those who don’t know, Ghost Rider 2 takes place a few years after the events of the first movie and follow Johnny Blaze(played once again by Nic Cage) as he hides out in Eastern Europe trying to find a way to rid himself of the Ghost Rider curse. He is approached by a monk who intends on “hiring” the Ghost Rider to protect a mother and her son who are being pursued by the Devil, who intends on using the boy as a human vessel. The only reason Blaze accepts is because he is given the impression that his curse could be lifted by helping.
Now here’s the catch. The son’s name is Danny Ketch. For those who don’t know, Dan Ketch is the name of the man who takes over the Ghost Rider mantle from Johnny Blaze in the comics. I didn’t even catch this before. I figured that the mother and son characters were original characters created for the movie( a la Rachel Dawes in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight). I didn’t even think to look up character names. Knowing that the kid that Blaze is protecting is a major character from the source material could mean that there could be a character change after this movie is over. Let’s face it, Nic Cage is not the youngest guy out there playing super heroes these days. He probably won’t be doing too many of the big time action movies for too much longer( I’m still waiting on National Treasure 3 so I can find out what was on that damn page).
Anyway, to me, even though I like Nic Cage, I think it’s time to move on to another Rider as far as the source material is concerned. And the inclusion of the character of Dan Ketch, even as a child, suggests that a Rider change could happen. I hope that directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor and the writers have taken the source material into consideration and make that change. But I guess we will have to wait and see on February 17th.
Laterz!!
