What’s up guys!?!

Well, we are back from Wizard World Comic Con, and I’ve gotta say, we had quite a good time.

There were all sorts of celebrities and artists there to meet your nerdy needs. I personally had a great time walking through artists’ alley looking at all of the different art around the hall. And to say the least, these artists did NOT disappoint. Two artists in particular really stood out to me and so I had to buy some prints from them. The first artist is a guy by the name of Greg Horn. For those of you who remember when we went to Star Wars Fan Days last month, I bought a couple of prints from him then too. I was really impressed with his work and he is one of the hottest comic book artists out there right now. He is most famous for his work on DC’s Blackest Night series. If you’ve picked up an issue from the Blackest Night series, you’ll see his work on the covers of every issue pretty much every DC character who had a Blackest Night book. To say the least, his art is very well done. I had bought a Deadpool and Master Chief print from him at Fan Days and had intended to just buy a Spider-Man print from him this time….then I saw he had another Master Chief print, so naturally I had to buy that one too…you got me again Greg Horn.

The second artist I bought from was an artist named Cory Smith. If you haven’t seen anything from him, you are missing out big time. What Cory does is that he draws pictures of movie characters. Last year I went to Wizard World with our writer Josh Massie, we saw Cory there and were blown away by his work. Josh ended up buying a print of the Edward Norton Incredible Hulk and Aaron Eckhart as Two-Face from The Dark Knight. The amount of detail that Cory put into these two prints, especially the Two-Face sketch, was absolutely incredible. You could see so much in just a black and white picture, it was great. Plus as an added bonus, when you buy a print from him, Cory will color in the eyes of the characters, which adds even more to the already stunning picture. I was determined to buy something from them this year if I saw him. So I got a print of Thor, the Silver Surfer(which looks amazing BTW), and my favorite, Bela Lugosi as Dracula. I was pretty stoked because he colored Thor’s eye blue(as they should be) and Bela Lugosi’s eyes were colored a dark red(AWESOME!!).

All in all, it was a great weekend. We got some rad interviews with some of the artists there which will be up on our interviews page very soon so look out for them, and just had an all around great time.
