Some Comic-Con Trailers

HEEEEEEEEEEEEY!!!!

Here are a few trailers that were premiered at this years San Diego Comic-Con in case you missed them.

The Dark Knight Rises teaser trailer (which can also be seen before Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2):

http://youtu.be/apMXFloDH6M

The Amazing Spider-Man teaser trailer: http://youtu.be/qJQS16dGk0w

The Avengers trailer: Well, I TRIED to find and official trailer for The Avengers but all I could find were the stupid leaked versions taken by kids in the movie theater using their cell phones. Just go see Captain America: The First Avenger and see it for yourself.

Mass Effect Movie Coming?

Well, Comic-Con has come and gone and along with the teaser trailers for “The Dark Knight Rises” and “The Amazing Spiderman” and the first official trailer for next year’s superhero team up movie, “The Avengers” being released, there was some interesting news at first time Comic-Con presenters Legendary Pictures concerning something that could validate my earlier post about video game movie adaptations.

Apparently, Legendary is currently in works with BioWare to make a Mass Effect movie in the not so distant future. Legendary acknowledged that video game movies sucked and reassured that they are working close with BioWare to make sure that they make the best video game adaptation ever.

They had no concept art or footage to show to prove what they are working on at the panel but we shall see in the future.

Apparently, in 2006, former editor in chief of Marvel and movie producer, Avi Arad, bought the rights for a Mass Effect movie long before the first game even came out, so he must have seen something in the early workings of the game.

New Red Dead DLC Coming Our Ways Soon!

Hey what’s up everybody?!?

It’s good to be back and I’ve got some pretty cool news concerning probably my favorite game from 2010, Red Dead Redemption.

Well, after the success of the previous DLC pack for Red Dead, the zombie campaign entitled, “The Undead Nightmare,” Rock Star is now working on what will probably be the last DLC pack for the award winning Western.

Entitled “Myths and Mavericks,” this DLC pack is just an online multiplayer add on pack that adds on additional areas in the multiplayer world and you will now be able to play as Landon Ricketts!

Oh, and did I mention? It’s FRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

That’s right, this DLC pack is absolutely free! Very cool if you ask me!

The Myths and Mavericks DLC will be available for download in September for the X-Box 360 and Playstation 3.

Maybe some GOOD video game movies coming our way?

YOOOOOOOO!!!!

It seems like Take Two Interactive has followed the same suite as Marvel and started their own movie studio.

I just read some news that Take Two Interactive, who owns Rock Star Games, who make the Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, and LA Noire franchises, has just trademarked “Rockstar Films.”

Now could this mean that there will be future film adaptations of Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, and LA Noire? Personally, I sure hope so!! I love what Marvel has done and taken some of their top comic book franchises and somewhat took creative control when it came to their movie adaptations. Could this be a gateway to us seeing other video game franchises actually being made into good movies? I hope so. I’m tired of see video games being made into movies and the movies sucking. Probably the most decent movie I’ve seen that was based from a video game was the Silent Hill movie. That’s not really saying much, but I felt that movie was the closest to the source material. But it’s because of movies like Super Mario Bros, the Resident Evil sequels, and let us not forget the House of the Dead movie (yes, they made a House of the Dead movie, and it was horrible), we have not seen any signs of a Halo, or Gears of War movie, and the Uncharted movie has just picked up a new writer and director.

I think Take Two has made a wise choice in forming their own movie studio if this is what it seems. Those three franchises would make excellent movies if they are done right. Especially Red Dead and LA Noire. In fact, LA Noire was entered into the Tribeca Film Festival, making it the very first video game to ever be entered into it.

I’m very anxious to see where this goes. Hopefully the slump of horrible video game based movies will come to an end. But we shall see!!

Alright, that’s all I’ve got for now.

See ya’ll!!

Some Sad News :(

What’s up everyone?

Well, I’ve got some sad news to all of our listeners out there. I’m gonna be absent from the next two podcasts.

I know I know, you’re all wondering how the show will go on without me being there. But Brea, Tim, and Dean are all capable of going on without me. I’m very confident….pretty confident….kinda confident………ok, we’ll just have to see how this goes and hopefully things will go well. Haha! JK you guys. The three of them started things off by themselves and they’ll do fine without me for the next couple of weeks.

I’m sure some of you are wondering why I will be absent. Well, I have two passions in my life: music and video games. Not only am I a video game nerd, I am also a band nerd. I played in high school band and I have my college degree in music. I am currently planning on becoming a band director and music teacher (if I can find a job with all of these stupid budget cuts). Well, I will be working the band camp at my Alma Mater, Texas Lutheran University. And so I will be unable to record with the guys the next couple of weeks. But don’t worry everyone, I will be back.

But I will make sure to keep everyone up to date on the latest gaming news in my absence. Make sure to keep up with the blog and I’ll see you guys on the podcast in a couple of weeks!!

Some recent Nintendo Wii U news!

Hey everyone!

Got some recent news concerning the Nintendo Wii U. It was recently let out that EA had confirmed that they are currently developing titles to launch with the Wii U! So in response to Brea and Dean’s reaction to the Wii U announcement…FUCK YOU! We told you that third party developers were jumping on for the Wii U and you didn’t believe us.

Anyway, this announcement was made by EA CEO John Riccitello at Nintendo’s E3 conference. He said to the crowd to imagine games like Battlefield and Mass Effect on the Wii U. Now, does this mean that Battlefield and Mass Effect will be coming to the Wii U? Not exactly, but if you saw the Wii U announcement trailer, you can see what the Wii U is capable of just think about what those games could be like using the Wii U’s technology. So as of right now, we know that Nintendo has a very big third party developer working on games using the Wii U’s technology. And we know that other developers have the prototype and are looking at what they can do with it.

That’s all I’ve got right now, see ya!!

First post and some E3 news!!!

Whats up everybody?!?

Well this is the first blog post I have ever done before in my life so if I screw this up please forgive me.

First of all, thanks for coming to the site and checking us out. Secondly, if you are reading this then you are as much of a video game nerd as I am and want to re read all of things that were announced at E3 just a few weeks ago!

Alright, here we go. Most importantly, Microsoft and 343 Industries announced not one, but two Halo games that are set to come out within the next year!! The first will be Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, which is basically a remake of the original Halo game and is set to come out on the 10 year anniversary of it’s release date!! So in other words, there’s going to be a Halo game coming out this November!! There’s not going to be anything special about this title accept that the graphics will be updated to HD quality. The gameplay and audio tracks will be kept the same as the original title. What’s pretty cool is that 343 Industries will allow players to actually see the difference in graphics between the original game and the remake. At any point during the game, the player can just press a button on the controller and the game will go from the HD game to the original with little to no load time.

Now, the second Halo title announced is Halo 4!! There has been speculation about a possible fourth installment in the story of Master Chief since the ending of Halo 3. Now we know for sure, Halo 4 is in fact coming to us. It’s set to be released around Christmas time of 2012. So basically, Halo 4 will bring about the end of the world, haha! Anyway, Halo 4 will pick up where the after credits cut scene in Halo 3 left us. Early buzz is that the story will show WHO Master Chief is and that we will get an idea of who the man under the helmet is. Could this lead to actually seeing Master Chief’s face?? Who knows? It is expected that this next game will be a start to another trilogy but we will have to wait and see.

Aside from the two Halo announcements Microsoft’s E3 panel was really Kinect heavy, which isn’t a bad thing, but with the exception of the two Halo games and a Gears of War 3 gameplay demo(which Gears 3 is really looking good) Microsoft seems to be focusing a lot on the Kinect this year, which makes sense because it’s still a relatively new product.

Nintendo went off an announced a new system all together at E3. They announced the Nintendo Wii U. Now, it’s kinda difficult to explain what all it can do, so I’m gonna just post the trailer for it along with teaser trailers for the two Halo games and the Gears 3 trailer.

That’s about all I have to say right now guys!! See ya’ll later!!
